Role at FSG
As the Director of People Development, MB divides her time between the two functions. As Manager of Staffing, MB works with consulting staff and FSG leadership to make case team assignments and to maximize case team effectiveness around our most important resource: our people.
Her time spent getting to know the needs of the case teams as well as the needs and passions of individuals lends itself well to her other role, that of Manager of Professional Development. In this role, MB and the PD team oversee all professional development needs for the entire firm: consulting staff, operations staff, and initiative staff. As FSG is a dynamic and constantly evolving organization, so too are the PD programs at FSG. MB and the PD team work to meet these changing needs so that everyone on staff feels supported and positioned for success.
Before FSG, MB spent about 6 years Eduventures, Inc., a research and consulting firm focused on higher education. During her time at Eduventures, she worked as a consultant and senior advisor to higher education clients; she also headed up the firm’s first formal training department. Prior to Eduventures, MB spent time as an admissions officer at the Tuck School of Business and as an associate with Mercer Management Consulting, where she worked on a variety of strategy projects across industries. In her career before business school, MB worked as an implementation consultant for Andersen Consulting and for a software start-up. Most recently she attended photography school and worked as a professional photographer.

On working at FSG
“Over the years I have watched friends who have joined FSG become impassioned by not only the mission and the work, but by the organization’s culture. This is a place where people are extremely bright and driven to achieve profound social impact. The most impressive aspect to me, however, is that it’s all done in a work environment of support, flexibility, collaboration, and humility. My professional passion is human potential; I’m privileged to play a part in developing and supporting the talented individuals who make FSG what we are today.”
