Role at FSG
As the Director of People Development, MB leads the People Team, i.e., the team that runs recruiting, staffing, human resources, and professional development for the firm. MB works on the strategic picture of what it means to support, develop, and grow our most important asset—our people—from the time they hear of FSG as recruiting candidates to the time they leave as alumni. MB, along with each member of the People Team, is always asking ‘How can we support out people better? What do they need to thrive at FSG? How do we best support each person as an individual and as part of the broader team that is FSG?’ As FSG is a dynamic and constantly evolving organization, so too are the People Team programs and supports at FSG. MB and the People Team work to meet these changing needs so that everyone on staff feels supported and positioned for success.
Before FSG, MB spent about 6 years Eduventures, Inc., a research and consulting firm focused on higher education. During her time at Eduventures, she worked as a consultant and senior advisor to higher education clients; she also headed up the firm’s first formal training department. Prior to Eduventures, MB spent time as an admissions officer at the Tuck School of Business and as an associate with Mercer Management Consulting, where she worked on a variety of strategy projects across industries. In her career before business school, MB worked as an implementation consultant for Andersen Consulting and for a software start-up.

On working at FSG
“Over the years I have watched friends who have joined FSG become impassioned by not only the mission and the work, but by the organization’s culture. This is a place where people are extremely bright and driven to achieve profound social impact. The most impressive aspect to me, however, is that it’s all done in a work environment of support, flexibility, collaboration, and humility. My professional passion is human potential; I’m privileged to play a part in developing and supporting the talented individuals who make FSG what we are today.”
