Welcoming Four Leaders to FSG’s Board of Directors

We recently welcomed four corporate and social sector leaders to FSG’s Board of Directors: Antoine Andrews, Gisele Shorter, Michael McAfee, and Wilma Wallace.

Antoine Andrews | Chief Diversity and Social Impact Officer, SurveyMonkey

Antoine joined SurveyMonkey in 2021 to lead the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and social impact initiatives. Previously, he was chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer at Year Up—a nonprofit that helps young adults gain the skills to reach their potential. He also held DEI leadership roles at Gap Inc., Symantec, and Nike, where he built multi-year DEI strategies and held leadership accountable for systemic change. He has expertise in talent development, executive coaching, cultural learning, and social impact and diversity. Antoine is a native of Newark, New Jersey, and a Rutgers-Newark graduate.

Gisele Shorter | President & CEO, Nellie Mae Education Foundation

Dr. Gisele C. Shorter is the third President and CEO of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, which funds community-rooted educational transformation that challenges racial inequities and advances excellent, student-centered public education for all New England youth. Foundational to Gisele’s career is the deep belief that an equitable society starts with an equitable education system. Over the past 15 years, she has led large-scale community-based programs and research and policy initiatives to advance justice and equity, close health disparities and ensure access and opportunities for Black and Brown youth and communities to flourish.

Michael McAfee | CEO, PolicyLink

Dr. Michael McAfee became President and CEO of PolicyLink in 2018, seven years after becoming the inaugural director of the Promise Neighborhoods Institute at PolicyLink. During his time at PolicyLink, Michael played a leadership role in securing Promise Neighborhoods as a permanent federal program, led efforts to improve outcomes for more than 300,000 children, and facilitated the investment of billions of dollars in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty. He catalyzed PolicyLink’s growing body of work in corporate racial equity— which includes the first comprehensive tool to guide private-sector companies in assessing and actively promoting equity in every aspect of their company’s value chain. He is turning movement leaders’ eyes toward redesigning the “rules of the game” so that all people in America — particularly those who face the burdens of structural racism — participate in a just society, live in a healthy community of opportunity, and prosper in an equitable economy. He is achieving this by enacting liberating public policies targeted to the 100 million people living in or near poverty, the majority of whom are people of color.

Wilma Wallace | Chief Legal Officer and Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer, REI (former)

Wilma Wallace is an experienced strategic advisor and board member of corporate and social impact organizations, with over 25 years of diverse experience in retail, consumer products, services, and wellness. Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions in organizations ranging from global multi-channel enterprises to small cooperatives and startups. Most recently, Wilma served as the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer at REI. During her tenure, she was instrumental in founding the REI Cooperative Action Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to fostering equity in outdoor access and served as the organization’s first Board Chair. Under her leadership, REI was recognized by Forbes in 2023 as the top brand for social impact.
