Ziri-Canela joins FSG with a multidisciplinary background in data analysis and public policy research, with particular interests in economic development, education, and social mobility. She is passionate about the role of cross-sector collaboration in creating shared value initiatives to maximize equitable and sustainable social change. As a consultant, Ziri-Canela conducts stakeholder interviews, performs secondary research, and works alongside case team members to develop client-customized strategic recommendations to address social inequities.
Before FSG
As an undergraduate, Ziri-Canela’s academic focus centered on the empirical examination of public policy problems, particularly those surrounding economic development, social welfare, crime, and risk. As the chair of educational initiatives for the Prison Reform and Education Project (PREP), she spearheaded educational campaigns to raise on-campus awareness on issues pertaining to mass incarceration and criminal justice reform. As the head of the Academic Policy Committee, Ziri-Canela worked closely with the faculty senate and the dean of students to develop policy resolutions to improve academic life.
Prior to FSG, Ziri-Canela spent a summer with Clean Water Action, an environmental grassroots organization, where she specialized in community outreach and lobbied Michigan state legislators to allocate over $26 million for the Flint water crisis. As a project manager at the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, she led the collection of ADA compliant regulatory data for the NY Department of Transportation’s 2019 Pedestrian Ramp Initiative. As an SEO intern with FSG in 2020, Ziri-Canela helped facilitate the visioning process and build client deliverables for a strategy project with the Cleveland Foundation.
